BRIEF PROFILE
Convinced by the progress of barrio high
schools shown in our country particularly in giving better education to the youth, the honorable members
of the defunct municipal council of Loreto, Surigao del Norte, headed by
Ex-Mayor Damiano O. Bagalay decided to organize and open a municipal high
school through the approval Resolution No. 21 dated February 15, 1966 and a YES
vote of the majority of the people of Loreto, approved by the Division
Superintendent Alfonso Cureg, thus on
June 17, 1966, First year curriculum was opened with 45 students , Mrs. Dorothy
Jamera Lungay as the first teacher, Mr
Odon C. Galido, as the first Principal.
Enrolment increased and continued its operation, however from SY 2009-
2010 to 2011- 2012 the enrolment decreased due to the opening of Panamaon NHS and Malinao NHS , these places
are feeder schools.
